#EverydaySuperwomen was a project we happened upon quite randomly, that quickly evolved into what you see today – a celebration of International Women’s Day 2017 that we’re incredibly proud of. As Women’s Day approached, we asked ourselves how we might go about celebrating the many amazing women we know who are in leadership roles in various fields, while also providing support and encouragement to those of us who are looking for female role models.

We decided to feature 9 #ladybosses from various industries – visual art, tech, storytelling, fitness, community support, business, conservation – who are making waves in Singapore. We asked them to tell us about a personal or professional challenge they have faced, and how they proceeded to overcome it and keep going. A simple enough prompt, yet the sharing we received was so heartwarming and genuine – we were so humbled by the candour and thought that went into each of the stories that was shared.

From there, we sought the best way to showcase these stories. The delightful illustrations were all produced in-house, and the website was also designed to mirror the whimsical line work. For this project, we wanted the content to speak loudest and the stories to shine through, so less was definitely more! Simultaneously, our social media campaign for this feature involved leveraging on Instagram’s new carousel feature to showcase the illustrations and quotes, thus drawing our audience back to the website.

#EverydaySuperwomen was one project we had an absolute ball working on. There’s a special kind of joy that comes with having full ownership of the artistic direction of a project! It was such an honour and privilege to share the stories of our #EverydaySuperwomen with all of you.
