Tusitala’s earliest brainchild was a culmination of our desire to create something educational yet whimsical and fun. The children’s book app Toilet Monster features Lola, a preschooler with a vivid imagination who is learning to navigate the adult world. From the story concept to character design and storyboarding, we’re proud to have produced it all! We commissioned the story to a local author and illustrator, and the rest was history!

Through the app, we wanted to promote reading aloud. The story is voiced over by a girl child, but the highlight of the app is the ‘Record’ feature. This allows the child or a parent to record themselves reading the story instead, making it a starting point for parent-child bonding. Simple words and simple sentences help preschoolers try their hand at reading aloud.
